Bayonet-style (Standard): The classic cap that turns a quarter turn. Cheap and effective, but requires manual labour each time you fill up.
Check for signs of wear:
Worn gaskets: If acid is leaking around the plug, the gasket is worn out.
Clogged ventilation: If the plug is covered with white powder (sulphation), the gas cannot escape, which can cause the battery case to bulge.
Cleaning: Always wipe the top of the battery before removing the plugs to prevent dirt from falling into the cells.
Remember that the plugs must always be fitted during charging to avoid acid splashes.
